Maria was the first person buried in this cemetery. She was the first wife of Mathias Albert Tostrup. According to the Minnesota Census of 1885 she was born in Norway about 1864. Mathias donated a portion of land to this cemetery in 1886 in memory of Maria, so she most likely died in that year.
