Krokum Farm, Sor-Fron, Oppland, Norway

We are looking for property records regarding our ancestors at Krokum Farm in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Krokum Farm is in Sor-Fron in Oppland, Norway. If you can help, we would appreciate it! Also, we will be traveling in Norway. If there are any museums that would have history of this area, we would love to visit them.

They are discussing several "Smallholdings"  named Krokom" existed at Nordgard Skodal, Upper Nigard Skodal, and Lower Nigard Skodal—specifically Upper Krokom, Southern Krokom, and Northern Krokom and include some names and a map.

Thank you, Jan! We took your recommendation and I have posted and am waiting for my question to be approved and posted by the Facebook administrators of the group. If anyone here has recommendations for locating property documents for Krokum Farm in the 1700-1838 or for recommendations for history museums to visit while in Norway, we would appreciate them!

For a bit of context, we think that Krokum Farm would be in the Matrikler 1723 and 1838. But we don’t read Norwegian and aren’t sure what section of the Matrikler it would be in. Krokum Farm is in Sor-Fron so that might help with what section of the Matrikler it would be in.

According to the book "Gardar og slekter i Fron. 1 : Sør-Fron" Krokom (note written with o not u) a common name for several leasholds or tennant farms under the matrikkel farms mentioned above. It is likely that at tennant lease hold, will be mentioned  in the matrikkel. However, the according to the book, the leasholds are mentioned in  1801 and 1865 under the main farms. https://www.nb.no/items/e39f6c2911849be682234d6f7f0eff30?page=481&searchText=krokom . You might not be able to access the National Library link from abroad. You migh givee names for the people you are looking for in this forum and then we should search the digital archive and look for them under Nordgard Skodal, Upper Nigard Skodal, and Lower Nigard Skodal to identify the correct place. Once found, there is available information of animals  and yield from of the tennants. You will probably get information from the facebook group, but names are important in order to identify the correct main farm and tennants.

Lodver Iversen Krokum was born 1753 and married to Anne Gundersdatter.
 

Johannes Lodversen Krokum was born 1793 and married Ragnild Iversdatter. 
 

Records show a passport issued on 5/5/1838 to move to Trondheim.

 

We are currently in Trondheim and would like to visit the area in Oppland to see Krokum Farm.

According to the site "Ringebuslekter" (onshus.no) Lodver Iversen Krokum lived at Krokum under Skodal (Skurdal), Harpefoss, Sør-Fron, see pointer on attached map

By combining infomation from the book "Gardar og slekter i Fron. 1 : Sør-Fron" and the 1801 census, we can extract that Lodver Iversen Krokum lived at Krokum under Nigard Øvre Skodal (147/1) (and not from Nigard Nedre Skodal (146/1) where there also was a place Krokum)
