[#1376] Vårø and Udvåre

Some farms on the islands Vårø and Udvåre appear in the Valle census for 1865, but in the Spangereid census for 1900. Is this true for all farms on these islands or is the matter more complex than that?

First of all, 1865 census is by parish and 1900 by kommune (municipality). This could explain why they are in two different areas. But since the borders for the parish and the kommune very often are the same, I would say that some farms has moved from one to another. I do not have any material to use to tell you what farms were moved.

Valle (Walle) = Sør-Audnedal (Undal). In 1865 and 1801 Spangreid sogn was a part of Valle prestegjeld.
