I'm looking at an entry in the Emigrants fra Stavanger 1825-1970 in Rogaland for my great, great grandfather, Elling Jonassen Bue. What does a source of BELL.ST.AFT.24/12-21 mean? Also what do remarks of STAVANGERLAGETS STEVNE EAU CLAIR, WIS. 1921 mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bell seems to be Bellesen, the name of a person. St.aft. is Stavanger Aftenblad, the leading newpaper in Stavanger. Which means that the source is Bellesen in the local newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad. Stavangerlaget is a organisation for people from the Stavanger area in US, ehich had a stevne (som sort of coming togethe, probably yearly) in Eau Clair, Wisc. Ballesen was probably a jurnalist writing about this meeting and giving the names of the participant.
