Can anyone advise if maps exist c.1801 showing farm locations in Kviteseid/Seljord districts of Bratsberg? If so where can they be viewed; any Internet access.Thanks for any help.Gary

You could try this: Ugland Totaltkart. Kvitseid has the position: Latitude 59.39 and Longitude 8.50.

I checked the site you suggested, but it only seems to have present-day maps.What I need is the locations of farms in or around the year 1801 when the census was taken. Names were very different back then.Any thoughts? Takk.

Hello Gary. If you need some help send a reply. The cencus of 1801 offers also search on farms, but as you've stated names were very different. The thing to do is to try with some few letters "similar to" and then you'll have all the proposals registrated. If I can be of any help just tell me. Regards Torkil.
