Can you tell me where I can get full records of my Great-Grandfather, Berthel Martinius Evensen from the seamen's rolls? All I have is what is on the digitalarkivet: Bertel Martinius Evensen 3120 Østraad I Høiland Høiland Pr.gjeld 1850.03.05 1872.06.07 1873.01.29 Helios/1872/stavanger/newcastle/newcastle. Rømt i Cardiff 17/4 1871. 21/5 1872 Meldt Hjemkomsten. Stavanger 2403-3604,1869-1915 359. I would really like to know more about his service in the Norwegian Merchant Marine. He eventually emigrated to England (or perhaps he ran away again!) married two English women (first wife died) and had a family. I belive if you look in the 1865 census you will find Bertil Evens. and his family in Rogaland, Høiland parish and Østraadt øvre (farm). I do not understand anything of his seamans book and can not help you there.
