Emigration of Sigvard Alfred Fredriksen

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a question, in the immigration records of Chile, is Sigvard Fredriksen, who embarked on the month of August 1901. Reviewing the records here, I find a Sigvard Alfred Fredriksen, born in 1878, emigrated from the port of Bergen on 16/08/1901, so it would be the same person who arrived in Chile, but there is also a death record in the name of Sigvard Alfred Fredriksen, born in 1878, buried in Bergen 11/19/1903. Is it a scope of names?

Thanks

I believe those two records relate to the same person - the emigrant is a smith's son from Årstad parish, and the deceased is a mechanic buried in Årstad parish. Very likely he traveled to Chile, but then for whatever reason decided to return to Bergen.

The colonization records in Chile indicate that in the year 1902, he was living on a farm in Ancud, and is registered as a farmer. It is likely that he returned to Norway, the colonization in that area did not prosper and many moved to other places in Chile ... I have no information that he had married or had children
