[Katie Downward]

Hi,

After having a little rest from researching, I am returning to find out more about my Norweigan Ancestry.  I would like to find Thore Larssen Bruland.  From the information I have found via a UK ancestry website, I think he was born in 1808.  He was possibly baptised in 1818 in Borsa, Sor-Trondelag.  His wife was called Judite Jacobsdatter.  I would like to find some census details or birth records/registers that would name his parents. I want to check if it is correct that Lars Olsen is, in fact his father, because the Lars Olsen I found was from Denmark but I haven't seen any written evidence.  I also have two names for his mother - Kirsten Andersdr and Kirsten Thoresdr.

 

I have done some simple searches, but nothing is coming up so I just don't understand how to use them.  Please help!

Thank you, this is great.  I am so confused with the surnames.  I have known Thore Larssen Bruland but can't make out the other name attached to him on this.  Possible Holtre??  I've not seen that before.

It’s not a surname - it is their address. Holze is most likely Holsen.

I don’t know when Lars was born. This is a description of Synnøve’s family, so it is her birth that is said to be in 1771. In 1801 she is unmarried, so I think marriage year must be later than 1797.
